Nothing artificial about it.

Happy Spring,
The beauty of this season brings out the nature lover in me. New leaves, wildflowers, pollinators, all of that stuff that needs no artificial enhancement. Like me.
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about AI advice lately. Don’t get me wrong; I love GPT-corrected grammar and an AI-generated self-portrait just as much as the next guy. But asking AI how to get a home loan is not the place to scrape the internet for answers. It’s much easier to get the right information from a human who understands the nuances (and there are plenty) that go into approving a loan.
I promise to do what works for you, do it well, and do it on time. No bumps or scrapes necessary.

Kick some bot.
A great example of a rogue bot happened to a client of mine recently and it almost cost him a loan. His employment status is temp-to-hire. Because of this, an AI-powered online lender denied his application. I, however, am able to approve his loan because his continuous employment in a temporary capacity for two years meets the standard for “consistent employment.” It’s this kind of human flexibility that beats the bot, every time.
Rate phishing.
If you’ve investigated online for mortgages at all, you’re probably getting tons of automated emails offering “great rates. Refi now!” Don’t take the clickbait. It’s still time to hold tight. As much as I would love for everyone to start refinancing, it’s just not the right time. I don’t want you to jump into something before the rates are at their most beneficial for you long-term. The good news is that if you have your initial loan with me, I’ll let you know when the right rates are coming up. And I’ll refi with no lender fees.
Taxes byte.
A quick reminder—if you’re self-employed and working on your taxes (online or with a real accountant), make sure you don’t take too many deductions this year. If you plan on buying a home, you need to show the full amount of your income. Your loan size depends on it.
Give me a call when you’re ready to get real.
